Happy International Women’s Day. The campaign this year is Choose to challenge. A challenged world is an alert world and from challenge comes change. So let’s all choose to challenge. Celebrate women’s achievement. Raise awareness against bias. Take action for equality.
“We have been committed to furthering women’s equality since we were first formed in 1920 by suffragettes and suffragists.
In 1920 our founder Etheldred Browning campaigned to enable women “of modest means” to find homes of their own. Today many women still face enormous difficulties in finding a safe, secure, affordable home.”
One of our goals is to challenge housing inequality for women and thinking about this our CEO Denise Fowler wrote two articles that were published today:
Housing remains a feminist issue
Let’s use International Women’s Day to highlight how important housing is to women’s equality
Denise and our Board member Yemi Aladaren are also speaking at an event Challenging The Gender Gap in Housing Affordability This is a free webinar hosted by District 34 tonight.
